Players and Parents Code of Conduct

The Player

  1. Treats opponents, teammates, coaches, and referees with respect.
  2. Plays hard, but plays within the rules of the game.
  3. Demonstrates self-control.
  4. Respects the officials and accepts their decisions without gesture or argument.
  5. Wins without boasting, loses without excuses, and never quits.
  6. Remembers that it is a privilege to represent Verona United Soccer Club.

The Parent

  1. Does not coach the players (including their own child) from the sidelines during the game.
  2. Respects the judgment of the referee and does not criticize officials.
  3. Decreases the pressure on their child to win.
  4. Believes that soccer's primary value is to allow youth the opportunity for self-development.
  5. Communicates with the coach and creates a positive working relationship.
  6. Controls negative emotions and thinks positively.

Field Access Guidelines - Verona United Soccer Club

Field Access During Practices & Games

During Practices and Training Sessions only Verona United SC players actively participating in their Practice and Training Session are allowed on the fields/turf. VUSC TMs, ATMs, Board Members and Red Bulls Staff and Trainers have all access to the fields related to activities including Practices, Training Sessions, Meetings, Game Set-Up and Breakdown and Tryouts. All spectators are invited to view practices and training sessions from the bleachers or behind the fences. Please adhere to all signs posted at entrance gates.

Games at Centennial, Liberty and Freedom Fields:

  • Please park in marked parking spaces. Any vehicle left in a no parking zone or within yellow lines is in jeopardy of a parking ticket or towing. Please observe all traffic signs, the complex is not a closed road but on a public/municipal roadway.
  • Only players, coaches and referees are allowed on the turf during game time. Teams may warm up in unoccupied space. The space behind the goals are off limits during gametime.
  • The field/player's entrance is through the large fence gate. The field has player benches. Visitors set up on the left. Verona will be on the right. Fans enter the stands at the parking lot. Verona fans sit to the right opposite the Verona players. Visitor fans sit to the left opposite their players.
  • There is no seating on the turf for fans. Personal chairs, benches or carts are not allowed on the turf.
  • There is no seating on the block walls (these areas are off limits during game time) or at the player's entrance.
  • Bathrooms are located at the Annex buildings and have exterior entrances.
  • Dogs/Pets are not allowed on the turf or in the stands.
  • There is no smoking/vape/chewing tobacco or alcohol consumption allowed within the gated spectator area and playing field. Please use the bins for trash and recyclables located at every field entrance.
  • Please read and adhere to all posted signs. We expect all fans to follow the NCSA code of conduct. Disruptive fans will be asked to leave. Referees may impose penalties to the bench of disruptive fans.

Games at Forest Avenue and HBW Fields:

  • This is a grass field. Chairs may be set up 3 feet from the sidelines. Do not set up chairs behind the goal nets. Fans should be situated opposite field side of the team benches. Canopy tents may be used by the teams but not by the fans. 
  • Please respect the homeowners on adjacent roads. Do not block driveways, fire hydrants, crosswalks and handicap curb cuts. Do not park along yellow curbs. Please do not litter, use the trash bins located on the field. Do not trample on neighbor's lawns and flowerbeds. 
  • There is no smoking/vaping/chewing tobacco or alcohol consumption allowed on the field. Dogs/Pets are to be leashed at all times. There is a Port-a-John on site.
  • Please read and adhere to all posted signs. We expect all fans to follow the NCSA code of conduct. Disruptive fans will be asked to leave. Referees may impose penalties to the bench of disruptive fans.

Verona United Soccer Club (VUSC) is issued a permit from the town after providing a Certificate of Insurance (COI) issued by US Club Soccer. The COI only covers registered players, team managers, and coaches who have a membership card.

All incidents on the field should be reported to VUSC.

In addition, all RedBull Coaches and Team Managers undergo mandatory training and a background check to ensure the safety of our children.
